This fall, Kaufman County voters will decide on a not to exceed $50M bond issue to fund facility improvements. These improvements target public services and safety for the citizens of Kaufman County. The following are the facility projects for consideration in this bond program.
- Justice Center – This facility would be the home to all the justice courts, district attorney, district clerk, pre-trial diversion, and the justice of the peace.
- Kaufman Courthouse Renovation – This renovation would provide public service offices for the tax assessor, county clerk, development services department, purchasing, veteran services, County Judge, information technology, human resources, and the auditor.
- Emergency Services Center – This facility would be home to law enforcement and first responders and would provide educational space for Forney ISD criminal justice and emergency services programs.
Additional facility improvements may include Terrell sub-courthouse, Kemp sub-courthouse, Forney sub-courthouse, and a regional animal shelter.
